Airmar B744VL Transducer Bronze Long Stem Dual Frequency
Overview
Who This Is For: Built for serious anglers and cruisers running fiberglass or wood hulls with steep deadrise angles or thick hull construction. If you've got a performance boat that planes hard and you need depth, speed, and water temperature all in one transducer, this is your solution.
The B744VL is a three-in-one thru-hull transducer that handles depth, speed, and temperature with a single bronze housing and extended stem. Dual 50/200 kHz frequencies give you shallow-water detail at 200 kHz and confident deep-water tracking down to 1,200 feet at 50 kHz. The long stem is purpose-built for boats with deadrise angles up to 24 degrees or thick, cored hulls where standard transducers won't reach through-hull properly. Pair it with the included high-performance fairing and you'll get solid sonar tracking at speeds up to 30 knots without signal breakup.
Key Features
- Dual-Frequency Sonar (50/200 kHz) — gives you a 45° wide beam for dependable bottom tracking in deep water at 50 kHz, and a tight 12° beam at 200 kHz for crisp target separation in shallow water — you get both shallow and deep coverage in one transducer.
- Extended Long Stem — sits proud of thick, cored fiberglass and wood hulls where standard transducers can't reach — critical if your hull is built for durability or your deadrise angle is steep.
- Depth, Speed, and Temperature in One Housing — eliminates multiple thru-hull penetrations and reduces clutter below decks — one hole, three critical data feeds.
- High-Performance Fairing — keeps sonar clean and stable at cruise and plane speeds up to 30 knots — no signal drop-out when you're pushing it.
- Self-Closing Water Valve — lets you swap the paddlewheel insert for a blanking plug without flooding the bilge — practical maintenance without the stress.
- Cross-Flow Compensation Fins — stabilizes speed readings in beam seas and crosswind conditions — your speed data stays accurate even when conditions get sloppy.
- 600 W Power Output — enough punch to cut through mineralized or turbid water and still paint a clean picture on your fish finder — especially valuable in Great Lakes or coastal systems.
