Airmar B175HW Transducer CHIRP 0° Thru-Hull
Overview
Built for inshore and pelagic anglers running fiberglass boats up to 36 feet who need high-resolution sonar and maximum coverage under the boat in shallow to moderate depths. Whether you're marking baitfish in the upper water column or reading bottom detail on a flat, this transducer delivers the wide-beam performance most high-frequency units can't match.
The B175HW is a thru-hull CHIRP transducer that operates across 150–250 kHz with a constant 25° beamwidth — twice the coverage of narrow-beam high-frequency alternatives. That wider cone means you see more fish and structure under your boat without sacrificing the sharp bottom definition and target separation that high frequency gives you. At 1 kW of power, it handles depths to 500 feet and works at speed without losing signal clarity.
Key Features
- Wide-Beam High Frequency (150–250 kHz) — operates across a full 100 kHz bandwidth with a constant 25° cone angle — you get twice the lateral coverage of narrow-beam transducers while keeping the fish-target separation and bottom detail that make high frequency valuable for sight-fishing and structure hunting.
- CHIRP-Ready — supports full CHIRP sonar capability on compatible Garmin units — you'll see crisp fish arches, suspended baitfish, and layered structure that traditional narrow-band transducers miss.
- Tilted Element Design — the ceramic element is fixed at 0° inside the housing and corrects automatically for your hull's deadrise when installed properly — no manual aiming required; you get maximum echo return and clean signal at all speeds.
- 1 kW Power Output — strong enough to maintain signal clarity at speed and in rougher conditions — you won't lose bottom contact or fish targets when you're running 20+ knots.
- Depth and Temperature Sensing — integrated sensors give you real-time water temperature and precise depth readings — critical for tracking seasonal patterns and finding thermoclines.
- Bronze Thru-Hull Housing — designed for fiberglass and wood hulls; the low-profile installation keeps display resolution clean when the boat is on plane.
Specs & What's Included
Compatibility: This transducer connects to Garmin units with an 8-pin CHIRP connector. It is compatible with Garmin GPSMAP, echoMAP, and Panoptix-capable chartplotters that support CHIRP transducers. Works on boats with up to 24° of hull deadrise. Not sure if this works with your setup? Call or text us at (833) 831-4077 — we'll tell you straight.
What You Get: Airmar B175HW transducer with 8-pin Garmin connector cable. You'll need a thru-hull hole 3-3/4 inches in diameter; the transducer shaft is 2.80 inches usable length. Installation hardware and sealant are not included — source these separately based on your hull material.
