Overview

Built for center console and smaller boat owners running Garmin systems who need reliable depth and temperature data without breaking the budget or taking up real estate on the hull. This is your transducer if you're fishing 40 to 2,500 feet and want straightforward sonar performance that doesn't demand a complete electronics overhaul.

The B175L is a low-profile thru-hull transducer that trades fancy imaging for rock-solid depth and temperature readings across a broad frequency range. Its tilted ceramic element compensates for hull deadrise, meaning your sonar beam points straight down even on boats with significant V-shape — no guessing on depth, no false bottoms.

Key Features

  • Tilted Element Design — ceramic element fixed at 20° inside the housing to automatically correct for hull deadrise up to 24° — your depth readings stay accurate whether you're on a bay boat or a deep-V offshore machine.
  • CHIRP-Ready Single-Band Sonar — transmits across 40 to 60 kHz with up to 20 kHz of total bandwidth — delivers excellent coverage and target separation in both shallow and deep water without switching frequencies.
  • 1 kW Power Output — sufficient punch for solid bottom definition and fish marking to maximum depths — won't give you the sensitivity of a 2 kW unit, but it's more than adequate for recreational fishing and structure hunting.
  • Depth and Temperature Sensing — two critical pieces of water information from a single installation — know when you've crossed a thermocline or found the temperature break where fish concentrate.
  • Low-Profile Bronze Housing — sits nearly flush with the hull for minimal drag and clean aesthetics on fiberglass or wood — requires only a 3-3/4" hole and mounts in boats up to 36 feet.
  • 32° to 21° Beamwidth — wider cone at lower frequencies for broad-area searching, tighter cone at higher frequencies for precise target identification — adapts automatically as you adjust frequency.

Specs & What's Included

Compatibility: Works exclusively with Garmin systems using an 8-pin connector — confirm your fishfinder or chartplotter has an available 8-pin transducer port before ordering. This transducer is CHIRP-ready, meaning it will take advantage of CHIRP functionality if your Garmin unit supports it. Not sure if this works with your setup? Call or text us at (833) 831-4077 — we'll tell you straight.

Installation: Bronze housing is designed for fiberglass and wood hulls only — if you have a metal or aluminum hull, order the SS175L stainless steel version instead. Maximum hull deadrise angle is 24°; if your boat is built with more deadrise than that, the tilted element won't fully compensate. Usable shaft length is 2.80 inches with a maximum depth rating of 2,500 feet.

In the Box: Transducer only — the Garmin 8-pin Mix and Match cable is sold separately. You'll also need a cable run from your transducer to your fishfinder or chartplotter.
