Airmar DT820BV Transducer 235 kHz 20° Tilt
Overview
Built for anglers running networked NMEA 2000 systems who need accurate depth and temperature data without cluttering their network with standard transducers. If you're running a modern integrated display setup—especially where space is tight or you want to avoid sonar interference—this is your sensor.
The DT820BV is a thru-hull depth and temperature transducer that processes its own signal before sending clean data to your display. The 235 kHz frequency runs interference-free alongside your 50/200 kHz sonar, the tilted ceramic element delivers strong bottom echoes even at speed, and the retractable design means you can pull it for cleaning without draining your hull.
Key Features
- 235 kHz Frequency — operates on its own band without interfering with your fish finder — runs clean alongside any 50/200 kHz sonar on the same network.
- Low-Profile Tilted Element — ceramic is angled inside the housing so the beam points straight down — you get strong bottom returns and accurate readings even in shallow water and at cruise speed.
- Smart Sensor Processing — signal processor is built into the transducer, not external — one cable delivers depth and temperature to any NMEA 2000 compatible display, simpler installation.
- Depth Range 0.5M to 180M (1.6' to 594') — reads accurate shallow-water depths as small as 1.6 feet and bottoms down to 600 feet — useful across fresh and saltwater applications.
- 12° Cone Angle — narrow beam focuses your ping directly below the hull — minimizes clutter from suspended debris and structure off to the sides.
- 20° Tilt Angle — matches 16° to 24° deadrise hulls — ensures the beam points straight down even on moderate-V bottoms; other tilt angles available for flatter or deeper-V hulls.
- Retractable Insert with Self-Closing Valve — pull the transducer for inspection or cleaning without opening your hull to water — maintains security when removed.
- Urethane Face — better acoustic sensitivity than standard materials — cleaner signal at depth, especially useful in freshwater where bottom composition varies.
- 100W RMS Power Output — sufficient headroom for range and sensitivity without needing extra amplification.
Specs & What's Included
Compatibility: Works with any NMEA 2000 network display. Operates on 235 kHz band, so it won't interfere with Airmar or other brand 50/200 kHz transducers running on the same boat. Hull thicknesses: minimum 6.3mm (0.25"), maximum 54mm (2-1/8"). Shaft length 57mm (2.25") usable. Comes with 0.6M NMEA 2000 devicenet cable and connector. Not sure if this works with your display? Call or text us at (833) 831-4077 — we'll tell you straight.
In the Box: DT820BV-235-N2 transducer, 0.6M NMEA 2000 devicenet cable and connector, blanking plug for the thru-hull opening when transducer is removed.
